DRIERS

  • Press-side additive used to improve the drying time of SHEETFED inks, especially when printing on non-absorbent stocks, boards and plastics.  Reacts with water in fountain solution to release oxygen, speeding up the drying process.  Will reduce tack and viscosity.  Addition of 3% to 5% recommended.

REDUCERS

• Clear Gel Tack Reducer - X0555
  • Used to reduce tack and promote blanket release.  Helps maintain ink body while reducing tack.  Will slow setting and can cause greasing!  Addition of 2% to SHEETFED & WEB HS inks maximum.  (Not recommended for NEW CENTURY)  Addition of 3% to 5% in FORMS inks recommended.

• Soft Binding Varnish - 711V8144
• Flow & Transfer Varnish - V0069
  • Used to improve transfer of ink on press.  Will aid in reducing mottle in large solids and may help reduce mechanical ghosting.  Will increase water pick-up of ink.  Can cause plugging of screens and tight reverses, scumming or toning if used in excess.  Addition of 3% to 6% recommended.

  • High tack and high viscosity varnish used to improve water resistance, better trapping for 1" down colors or for sharper printing.  Will increase tack and viscosity of ink.  Addition of 5% to 10% recommended.
